Started this morning at River mile 824. Several family and friends at the launch. Shoreline view quickly became “undeveloped” and wonderful. Saw at least eight eagles, including one swim-stroking in the river pulling a larger fish to shore. That was a first time view for both Dave and I.
Got to lock 2 and passed through after an hour and a half. First lock passage ever. The lock crew was very friendly!
Docked at Prescott, confluence of the Mississippi and St Croix Rivers.
Rolling again for a few more miles to River mile 798 to a sand bar, actually a dredging spoils island for dinner and the second night on the boat.
Great day. More tomorrow!
